@techguy9023
I have the Luxe Minipeak. I really like it but had trouble in the winter once with wind gusts getting under it. Had every stake and tie out used. Probably would have been better to find large rocks to tie out instead of stakes.

Hello again Sandy😊. I've watched and re-watched many of your vlogs and I have developed a love for the aluxe hexpeak v4. Keep up the great work and stuff😊😊🙏🙌👍🏼👍🏼

@oscartravis5740
I did part of the West Highland Way from north to south, a group of us went and planned to wild camp the whole way. Too much pack weight, injuries, factional strife, torrential rain, and general over-ambition of the distances we could make, were among the many scuppering factors that had us bail out at the foot of Loch Lomond! I have to go back and tackle it again, older but wiser :-)

Brought back some memories doing the West Highland way many years ago .keep on watching this 3 parter .just brilliant sandy .

@alansmith5401
Really enjoyed that , we walked it in 2010 I remember the ups and downs around Loch Lomond and wondering if I could make it. Thankfully the walking got easier. We got the bug and went on to walk many more. Thanks for a trip down memory lane. Ps the goats stink !

@andyc3088
I did the WHW in May 2018, there wasn't all the waterfalls then, but the Loch Lomord I thought was the hardest bit. There's a bothy before the one you stopped in, which has Pine Martins which woke me up at 4 in the morning trying to get my food.

Great upload and a cracking trail .... Back in 2010 i seriously misjudged the terrain and tried to cycle through that Loch Lomond section, to make a bad situation much worse i had SPD clip in cycling shoes that are like walking on ice skates....as you can imagine my day went from blissful joy to utter despair in a matter of a few hours ......

The sound of the storm....just fantastic. More though cause one can be inside, dry (hopefully) and cosy listening to the expression of nature, so to speak

@sandyjack1046
I should have commented on this a few years ago Sandy ,however ive just learned how to subscribe . The West Highland Way is a passion of mine .It first came to my attention back in 1989 ,when I entered the W H W Race ,which I covered in 19 hours 55 mins . I ran it again in 1992 in 26 hours 26 minutes .After a hip replacement in 2006 I walked it in 5 days. 1 year later I done it in 4 days .Iwas hurt in a cycling accident in 2009 so a few years before I tackled it again in 2013 after another hip replacement in 2015 I did it again in 2017 and 2018 . this year will be my 8th time after a knee replacement knocked me out of it last year . was up doing the penultimate stage over the weekend . we attempt the W H W on 15th June . . Its a bit weird talking to another Sandy Jack .After all this time ive just refereed to you as Sandy Wiltshire man keep the videos coming you have no idea the cold winter nights in Scotland when you've inspired me to keep camping and hiking and to get into my local woods . so thank you for the inspiration

Watched this series a few times before setting out on WHW myself a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately I injured my IT band so couldn't finish. Currently healing up and getting inspired for the next attempt when I've recovered. Rewatching these videos make me want to get back out there.

@dd-5634
I'm curious why Mark found the water filter system to be
" cumbersome" ..... we always set up the water filter system in the afternoon when we stop for camp and let it filter all night so it in the morning we have 2 Liters of filtered water ready to go and an empty Reservoir ready to collect more water at our next opportunity

I enjoyed the video, but I’ve noticed before with English people, they don’t seem to be able to pronounce bothy, is it a speech impediment or just ignorance, I’ve always found it odd.

@0249er
just came back myself but only done up to inversnaid since I only had five days off including two days for travel to and from London but I have to say stunning. It was 32 degrees for the most part and I got eaten alive by the insects but couldn't have asked for a better time. great video by the way!

@paulrudd1063
can you get pure alcohol in GB? We can only get metho in australia and the methonal component is meant to be highly carcinogenic. Also, I did some tests on different cookers and metho pumped out more CO than anything else. I like the look of your tent. Very impressive! Great video... keep up the great work!

@Nicktgrief
lovely to see it again, its changed a bit since I did it in 2000.  I loved the 1st day didn't enjoy the next 2 or 3 as the path along side Lomaand was all tree roots so you couldn't really look up, but the bit from Bridge of Orchy and down the Devils staircase  was superb even if it did rain ... I was glad of the cup of tea at the end !

Yes good effort sandy in some pretty inclement weather as Scotland is often so renowned for
Комментарий от : @davidhuxtable8918

@davidhuxtable8918
It often doesn't always pay to go too light or ultra light in Scottish weather you also require kit that is robust!? I distrust some of the ultralight gear As it can be fairly fragile there is always a compromise as light as you are able whilst maintaining capacity to counter everything ever thrown at you so I find it best to tread somewhere between light n heavyMaking sure that your most important items come first on the pecking orderAs everything else's is often just ancillary to requirements can be condensed afterwards

@stormcamper2101
Hello Sandy...watched this video many times over and off to do it myself at the start of next month with my hammock. Your videos have been a real help. One question though please....did you take the lower route or the higher path when it split along Loch Lomond? It does mention in the guide that the lower route isn't as suitable for big packs but also want to do it properly so I'm not sure what one to pick. Any help there would be appreciated. Thanks, Gordon.

Sandy - I'm heading back to Milngavie this year for the WHW. I completed it in 2016 with a 23kg pack. To be fair it was honours even. Heading back in 2017 with 17kgs and I hope Me 2-1 WHW. It is a wonderful route with stunning scenery but not to be underestimated. Anyhow - would you do the WHW again and if so, what would you do do differently?

@WyeExplorer
Fair do's to you and your friend Sandy this was a spectacular yet arduous journey due largely to that harsh weather. But did you moan...not at all. Awesome stoic spirit. You even said the view was stunning in pissing down rain. Brilliant! I see you had them trustee new walking shoes on. Good going in them then. Weirs way....one of my favorites. I could go on. A great hike, restorative time in the Bothy and exploration. All the best. Mark.

@mrrm1st
Hi sandy. I just finished the WHW yesterday. It was tougher than I was expecting! Out of interest roughly how much did your pack weigh? I was carrying about 21kgs and it was far too heavy. I need to learn to pack lighter, but there wasnt really anything i didnt need. It was help to understand how much others carry. Cheers.

Hey Sandy, really cool video, very helpful for me. I'm planning on doing the WHW the start of next month.

How did you get on with the 'wet foot technology'?
I was hoping to do the whole thing in trail running shoes and merino socks - do you think that's feasible? Or do I really need to take my boots?

Gonna crack on and watch the next part now
