[Signals Jammed] Several people are typing... Комментарий от : @xandercreates6766 |
This feels like a groupchat and the Californian is sleeping 💀 Комментарий от : @stoopypaduaxy |
This was actually far more entertaining than the movie, in my opinion. Комментарий от : @Hoctober |
The last line just kills me Комментарий от : @arianaalioth |
I thought I would watch this wanting to see what was said and skip through a bit until the end but a stayed for every second Комментарий от : @jameshanzel3175 |
The amount of skill in morse code is stunning Комментарий от : @loldog3378 |
Whats up with Frankfurt Комментарий от : @migueldelarosa1703 |
Philips was told by the california that there was ice right in front of them but Phillips told them to shut up. So he could keep sending to cape race. So as valiant and brave as he was in giving the last of him to sending those signals he did make a grave mistake. Still very heroic May he rest in peace. Комментарий от : @marcusjohnson6412 |
Titanic sinking, hours of transmissions, suddenly some Pip from South Park shows up Frankfurt: "Hey Titanic, we're 100 miles away. What's the matter with you? " Titanic: "GOD DAMMIT, Frank, will you shut the hell up?! Nobody gives a rat's ass!" Caronia: "Yeah, go away Frank." Frankfurt: "Right-o!" Комментарий от : @shadowpoet4398 |
Titanic to Californian, earlier: SHUT UP I'M WORKING CAPE RACE. Californian: And I took that personally Комментарий от : @AshendisTV |
That's like a very chaotic chatroom with everyone trying to shout over the others to be noticed or heard, yet half of them dont seem to be even heard. And Titanic just flooding the chat with SCREAMS for help all night... Before falling silent. As I understands more then one ship was rushing to their help, but only Carpathia was close enough to get there in a decent amount of time... still too late but even then. And Olympic telling everyone to SHUT THE HELL UP like a good Big Sister so she can try and listen to her lil sister's call for help... Комментарий от : @MelnStarscream |

What does ‘V’ mean Комментарий от : @pAThomies |
I would say it was around 2:12/13 a.m. when Jack Phillips sent those last letters. At 2:17 a.m., the Marconi room was already under water, or so I have read in several books and seen in videos here. Комментарий от : @kaneki-ken96 |
SS California : 10000000 missed call from Titanic Комментарий от : @Baodeptrak6409 |
Does anyone know how accurate the messages were? I'm sure the operators could have done it in their sleep. I was just wondering how good the system was to assure accuracy. Комментарий от : @bluelarry1674 |
How many souls are alive and have lived since the sinking due to work of the Officers and crew of Carpathia, and all because Harold Cottam didn't go to bed at midnight, as he was due to. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Cottam Комментарий от : @marksheridan4421 |
That was like listening to the NYFD 9/11 audio. You felt it. Комментарий от : @huttona3 |
Bloody fast on and offs! Комментарий от : @SiruisStar |
What do they exactly mean by "corrected position" ? Does that mean that the Titanic radio operators transmitted titanic's position incorrectly the first time, or does it mean that since titanic was still moving, so they were giving their exact position at the time of transmission? Just the phrase 'corrected position' kinda confuses me. Комментарий от : @tazziiieee |
They are WIRELESS messages, NOT text messages. Комментарий от : @TitanicHorseRacingLover |
4:30 a.m. Californian to all: Oh what a mess. We were only 15 miles away. Luckily we turned our Marconi-Device off during the night. Комментарий от : @PaulWinkle |
29:42 (please pause here) can someone explain what happens if “signals jammed” and “multiple simultaneous transmissions” can anyone give me a meaning about this? Or what this is? Комментарий от : @karlthepro6991 |
Please do a UPI teletype JFK version... "Get off this Wire! Get off this wire. WIll You Please Get Off this wire!' Комментарий от : @Kharkovkid |
Need to overlay this on one of the real-time sinking videos Комментарий от : @weisswurster |
Why not try to be more historically accurate ? In 1912 when the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage , messages were sent via Morse Code and transcribed via good old-fashioned pen and paper. I don't think 'Text Messages' existed then. Комментарий от : @user-wp8vy8le3y |
I didn't know the Morse code sound would be so scary. Комментарий от : @rossobenny5137 |
The sudden end to the second message, the pregnant pause, then the abrupt change to the CQD message is genuinely chilling. Комментарий от : @stoneyboyd |
The only reason those 700 people survived is because of the guy who was sending this messages, the radio set broke during the voyage, but Philips and Bride fixed it, if they followed company rules no one would ever know titanic sank, just some few days later they would notice that titanic never appeard in NY, and then some years later people go to the atlantic ocean and find 1500 bodies, some frozen, and titanic in the bottom of the ocean Комментарий от : @enzokkkfd433 |
Want to feel and hear everything Jack Phillips had to hear? Well I have all the steps to you're help. Step 1.) Get a vintage headset that can be plugged into your device and plug it in Step 2.) Make sure you are at a volume you belive is accurate Step 3.) Go to 29:29 to try and make out any messages on the signal jamming Комментарий от : @YellowBallProductions |
29:29 Uh Oh! Комментарий от : @YellowBallProductions |
Would there be a video similar to this but with a map on which we could see the position of the ships and possibly circles of radio range rays??? Комментарий от : @Weltaz |
Hello, why do so many messages contain the words "old man"??? what does this mean ? Комментарий от : @Weltaz |
Why did they call "old man" each other? Комментарий от : @user-nw6mu7qr9f |
How sad but so glad this was recorded for historical purposes. RIP those on board and those who survived. Комментарий от : @JayS1889 |
Californian: hey titanic beware of some icebergs old man! Titanic: STFU IDC 2 hours later Titanic: well crap Комментарий от : @YellowBallProductions |
POV: You are S.S Californian and you recieved 20 missed calls from R.M.S Titanic Комментарий от : @marcusbaker830 |

Another reason why there weren't enough lifeboats is that optimistically, they're only supposed to ferry passengers from the sinking ship to the saviour ship. The assumption was that there would have been another ship already available to help for a worst case scenario like a sinking. Of course, we know this didn't happen. All of the except for the Californian were too far away, and they would have never been able to reach Titanic on time. Interestingly, to this day, there aren't enough lifeboats for everybody in cruise ships. Furthermore, it is also believed that the Titanic was only 30 seconds too late when it the iceberg. Had the crew been able to spot it 30 seconds earlier, it could have given them enough time to steer it away. 30 seconds. Комментарий от : @marcuscarana9240 |
31:36 lmao so this what happen if people keep spamming their chat using morse code in 1912 and admin trying to stop it Комментарий от : @BreadCroissant |
More thrilling than watching a movie Комментарий от : @joaoosvaldo3759 |
Man, this feels like a live chatroom but in a serious situation. Комментарий от : @baileysadlier4769 |
Any chance you could transcribe this without interpreting everything? That would really emphasize the shorthand, abbreviations, and slang like you'd find in a text message or on the internet, and be would instantly more relatable. Not doing so misses the entire point of your title IMHO. Комментарий от : @classico42 |
Love the contrast between the shrill beeps of the tiny shipborne transmitters and the powerful, booming voice of the shore station at Cape Race. You can bet all the operators at sea sat up straight when the Cape came on the net! Комментарий от : @Strelnikov403 |
I love how almost every ship (except the one ship that could actually make a difference) races to their aid. Like you’d think most would be concerned with profits and being on time etc. but no they’re immediately willing to spend all day and tons of fuel heading to them. No matter how far away they were. Endearing. Комментарий от : @joesmoe6947 |
I hate the guy who was BASICALLY like"shut up, you´re blocking all channels, shut up" - it´s like stepping on the fingers of a person in the sea when they are drowning and you are safely in a lifeboat Комментарий от : @Calucifer13 |
who the hell is old man? they sure had their sense of humor Комментарий от : @yieldmanager |
What--are you--sinking--about? Комментарий от : @cdiqueen |
titanic live chat Комментарий от : @Tommmmmyyyyyyy |
I can just imagine several other ships escorting the Carpathia the rest of the way to New York Комментарий от : @sibbywoo |
26:48 Poor olympic..... if only they could save her own sister Комментарий от : @broadwayking |
which life boat was designated to us transgingers Комментарий от : @Digibullet32 |
It's sad, because everyone did everything they could to get to her. Albeit in beeps, you can really feel the despair. Still one of the greatest maritime tragedies in history. Комментарий от : @Corwin1141 |
Hard to believe but at one time this was the latest technology and most up to date form of communication over great distances. Комментарий от : @JewishKeto |
Titanic knew that the Californian was close, they've received warnings earlier but when they sent the first distress call Californian's only marconist was already sleeping. Californian was so close to the Titanic that you could actually see it in the orizon, they even saw the rockets. The captain of the Californian thought that they were company signals because they were fired every 5 minutes, at the time rockets meaned distress if they were fired every minute. Also that night there was a cold water mirage that created a false orizon which not only made the iceberg impossible to spot before it was too late but also distorted lights in the orizon so morse lamps lights were not understood. When Titanic's lights went off Californian's crew thought that the ship was steaming away. Californian's captain made the biggest mistake: there was a large steamer that suddently stopped in the orizon and after a while it was firing rockets, he should have woken up the wireless operator to contact that ship just in case. But even if Californian recived the sos call from the Titanic they would have arrived in about 1 hour and 20 minutes at least since it was around 15 Miles away and the engines were fully stopped. This wouldn't make a big difference so Titanic was doomed no matter what... Комментарий от : @MatteoRamaccioni84 |
You have to keep in mind that these are not messages that were sent on particular radio channels; this is before technology was at the point that radio bursts could be produced on a particular wavelength, so all signals from all ships would be overlapping and the operator had to pick out the signal that was being intended for his ship from a whole cacophony of others and translate it from Morse in his head. The initial more jovial messages were part of a huge backlog of passengers' messages to families and friends that the operator had been working through for the entire night due to the equipment failing earlier that day, meaning that he missed some early warning calls for the ice, and the larger number of incoming signals after his initial distress meant that he missed requests from other ships as to the nature of their emergency and to confirm that they needed immediate help. The Frankfurt was speaking German and translation on both ships was poor, but they tried their best as soon as they could understand what was happening. The Californian was the closest ship to them. The Californian's captain was informed, and decided to go back to bed... Комментарий от : @rosePetrichor |
I read that some crew member tried to steal Phillips life jacket and Bridge struck him with an object in anger. Apparently the dude was still there motionless when the two of them eventually bailed. Комментарий от : @Lomomomotobobobobo |
californian operator goes to bed Californian operator the next day at work: So, guys, what did I miss last night? I went to sleep after Titanic insulted me lol, told me to shut Literally EVERY ship in the area: FREAKING BI- Комментарий от : @BelieverInGod0 |
They started sounding desperate, even in the simple tones of morse code it sounded scared and frantic Комментарий от : @radium4194 |
I straight up started to tear up when Titanic said "YES. COME QUICK" You can feel the despair and panic in that one line. How horrifying that had to be. So cold, dark, and frightening. I only hope that the people that perished in that tragedy, did so with as little suffering as possible, even though I know that's not likely... it's hard to fathom the harsh reality of their demise. Комментарий от : @lilythebassetpuppy |
This sounds like the most English conversation ever Комментарий от : @TheOne-rl4ru |
Mount temple: we can see you...never mind....dont listen to last message....how to backspace? Комментарий от : @carloschristanio4709 |
The "CQD this is..." at the end is chilling. Комментарий от : @mattv9087 |
This has a lot of replay value. I listen to it to get to sleep sometimes Комментарий от : @shadowpoet4398 |
thank you for making this without this i would not know what the titnic was sending thank you for this Комментарий от : @Plaingun3455 |
Olympic: "EVERYONE SHUT THE HELL UP! I'M TRYING TO TALK TO MY SISTER! Ahem... are you sailing towards us?" Titanic: "YOU DAFT IDIOT! We're unloading the Women into the boats!" Olympic: "Oh." Olympic: "So, how's the weather over there?" Titanic: (About to scream, but takes a deep breath) "Quite calm, actually." Комментарий от : @Cosmic_Espeon. |
fnf fans: this shit goes hard🗣️🔥🔥🔥 Комментарий от : @ThekSaw |
I love when the Olympic tells everyone to stop talking. The Olympic was titanic’s sister ship, and you can almost tell how much it cares about the titanic Комментарий от : @tempest8882 |
Those two officers were very brave and stayed at their post almost to the end, only one survived in the water the other died of hypothermia. From the freezing cold water. Many passengers died in that freezing cold water, not from drowning, but hypothermia. Комментарий от : @alanhenley1866 |
Whenever there's a ship with more than a 1000 people travelling I feel a second ship should be launched that's at least 100 miles close. It doesn't have to operate at a loss, maybe it can carry mail or packaging or something. Just for insurance. Комментарий от : @polishedpebble4111 |
If it's slow for y'all just change the video speed Комментарий от : @blindassassin0 |

Imagine all of this in spark gap, which as I understand it, was the mode used. No nice clean carriers. Just buzzzz. From K1MGY who chose call sign in memory of the Titanic. Комментарий от : @k1mgy |
"CQD THIS IS..." Комментарий от : @chb3676 |
As a CW OP one of the most surprising things to me, especially in this situation, is the lack of use regarding abbreviations. I noted most if not all well known ones were omitted? 73 Rich Комментарий от : @richardconner5824 |
Why does frankfurt not listen to other transmissions? I understand that they can't communicate with titanic well but they could maybe hear others? Комментарий от : @ApollonDriver |
I wish the radio operator had escaped too, after telling the position and lifeboats one last time. Комментарий от : @ApollonDriver |
Interesting how ships only had one radio operator and no messenger to deliver messages from the radio room to the captain. Caused many issues for Frankfurt and Californian ships. Комментарий от : @ApollonDriver |
Titanic: hey I'm sinking need help hit a berg come quick Carpathia: should I tell my captain, do you need help What do you think, genius? He already said come! Комментарий от : @ApollonDriver |
8:08 The Carpathia's wireless operator, Harold Cottam, confirms that the Titanic is sinking got struck by an iceberg in Northwest and tells the captain. 20:19 The Carpathia has turned around heading Northwest for Titanic's aid about 58 miles away 22:15 It confirms the Carpathia is on it's way, expect to arrive at the position in 4 hours at 4am Комментарий от : @gagnon1993 |
You should've included the things going on between the Californian and Titanic. Комментарий от : @lst8185 |
Very well done OM Комментарий от : @rohnkd4hct260 |
48:20 Really funny how rage quit was a thing even back in 1912! Комментарий от : @bibekdas7449 |
At 01:48 it is sending CQD DE MGY, not CQD THIS IS TITANIC Комментарий от : @hachemuve6759 |
Was Olympic drunk? "are you steering southerny to meet us?" yeah titanic was totally steering and traveling south to meet Olympic 😂😂😂😂 Комментарий от : @annah3275 |
36:36 i always imagined he sat up for a second after reading that "are you coming to meet us".... "we are literally deciding who is about to stay on this sinking ship and who isnt" Комментарий от : @colt3964 |
2 different positions cape race vs everyone else Комментарий от : @wispa1a |
36:01 1912 bruh moment Комментарий от : @tozboz1018 |
what does it mean for the signal to be jammed? Комментарий от : @tozboz1018 |
Had to turn the volume down ( beeping) drove me crazy Комментарий от : @MelodyJ_123 |
This is one of the most heartbreaking, haunting, yet fascinating things I've ever seen. The timestamps of the lifeboats being launched is chilling to me. Комментарий от : @jackiekreutzer166 |
“Fool. You fool! Stand by. Stand by. Stand by and keep out! Keep out!” That message to Frankfurt was unspoken by a human voice. However, the anger and desperate frustration behind it as Phillips’ ship was quickly dropping from underneath him, knowing the situation was deteriorating and that his short life was likely coming to an end along with many others, makes his emotions in that moment quite palpable even through coded messages and text. Комментарий от : @nathanviebranz9111 |
So many ships..all charging forward to help, but all too far away...and in the saddest twist of fate, the nearest ship that could've saved so many people, had her damn radio turned off Комментарий от : @DuckyTheFox |
Interesting how California was useless even then. Комментарий от : @hawkdsl |
